Artist Notes
This piece is one of Mae Bet’s favorite choreographies: smooth, syncopated, and layered with subtle beats that inspired its translation onto canvas. The flowing lines and deep blues reflect the calmness of the movement while preserving its rhythm and intention.

What makes this work even more meaningful is the connection it created in the studio. When a student asked her to dance alongside them, Mae Bet reminded them that it isn’t about perfection - it’s about feeling good in the moment. That joy, freedom, and shared expression became part of the painting itself.

More than just brushstrokes, this piece embodies freedom: the release felt in dance, the connection to community, and the emotions music brings to life.
